Memories

You know a wedding is successful when your guests start doing the wave (fifth shot from the bottom) and dancing like Michael (as in Jackson... second shot from the bottom)... Photos taken by Max.

She's So Lucky

... "she" is me. I have so much to be thankful for, and it's not even Thanksgiving. A few reasons I've been so damn "gushy" as of late. (Read 'em and you just might understand.)

1) My boss is better than your boss. Being a Henson minion is so freakin' rad. I will be forever grateful for this experience.

2) Le hub and I are in talks to purchase our very own adult home. Don't want to jinx ourselves, so I'm not posting any photos or providing any details about location, but let's just say we are excited. Like, hearts pulsating out of our eyeballs excited!

3) New York bound. Vacay!!! Yes, I'm braving the storms to meet le hub in colder turf. Alas, this love is serious.

4) Max Wanger. He has sent us our wedding photos, and they are beyond wonderful. To be posted. Naturally.

Once Upon a Time

Le cub and I were married on August 28th, but we've yet to see our wedding photos! (We've also yet to see our full-length wedding video... but I suppose these are the unforeseen costs of hiring totally-awesome-but-uber-high--in-demand photogs and videographers for one's big day.) No biggie. I just hope this means that Max is going to make us look that much more awesome... because visuals of that day are unfortunately fading away in our feeble minds. Max did send over a handful for my parents to use at our December reception back in Taiwan. Here's one for kicks. Can't wait to blow it up...

I Want my MTV

the brilliant joel serrato has finished editing the short-version of our wedding video. click HERE to watch. (The short-version is focused more on us, and less so on the rest of the wedding ceremony. will post the long-version as well when i receive it!) le cub and i aren't the most photogenic couple, but i think joel did a fantastic job making do with his non supermodel subjects. the colors and music truly bring us back to that happy day. we blush when we watch it. a million thanks to the wonderful joel.

Remember the Time - Part I

we got married at a former smog shop?

there were lots of marigolds (because they go well with black puppies) and lots of candles (because i used to operate a candle factory)...

a not-so-tiny gentleman named "Tini" serenaded us down the aisle to jack johnson's "better together" (because we are) and "somewhere over the rainbow" (because it's magical)...

guests chow down on miniatures catered by "the food matters" (because it does!) during reception. these melt-in-your-mouth pastrami sliders were our favorite...

table-settings sparkled...

with the help of an assortment of kooky flowers...

not to mention an original doodle of "things that pair well together" for each and every guest...

more to come.

photos taken by friends, jay, karen, and jen. le cub and i were too busy to document!

We Did

Le cub and I were married in Los Angeles this past Saturday on August 28th. It was a day filled with our favorite f-words. Friends, family, food, and fun. Everything we could have hoped for... sprinkled with LOVE.

A special thank you to my moms (yep, I've now got two), dads (two), Jonathan and Rebecca... for making all our dreams come true.

Flower Power

Crazy-sexy-cool Holly of Holly Flora has gotten back to us about our wedding flowers! The following are snippets from her proposal for le cub and cougar wedding: "loose, garden-inspired designs and hints of retro whimsy in a palette of mustard, butter, green, and possibly ivory and white"... "slightly different tablescape with groupings of brass containers, etched vintage glass, silver, and apothecary glass"... "craspedia, marigold, garden roses, fever few, scabiosa, peonies, wildflowers..." Holy-moly. Are you turned on?! Because I totally am...

Holy Holly!

How lucky am I?

VERY.

Rebecca (the best wedding planner ever of {Duet} Weddings) and I met up at the rad Culver City studio of Holly Flora today. For those of you whose minds aren't cluttered with wedding blog and magazine content, Holly Flora is more than just your average florist. Owners Holly Vesecky and Rebecca Uchtman are floral sculptors who produce unconventional yet drop-dead-gorgeous floral arrangements that will surely steal the show. (Totally fine with me and le cub as we dislike being at the center of attention!) The girls were fun and thoughtful. We totally clicked, and I could not have had a better time brainstorming possible concepts for le cub and cougar wedding. Am really looking forward to our "sample viewing" two months from now when all the flowers we'll likely be using will be in season. It'll be epic.

Check out Holly Flora's work HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE.
Hmm. Holly Flora even has a Facebook page. I'm think I'm going to go join now.
