Battle Royale

Conan and Andy take on Taiwanese animators.
They should know better than to mess with the inhabitants of a renegade province.
My stomach hurts from laughing... help.

Til Death Do Us Part

Til Death Do Us Part from Debra Chow on Vimeo.

ALL DONE. (Well, no... tweaks still need to be made, but this is what I screened at last week's Festival of Animation at UCLA.)

Tip: To avoid having to watch the video lag (BOOOOOO), let the entire short run through once (buffer, buffer, buffer - on mute?!?) before your official viewing. Enjoy!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY LITTLE BROTHER!!!
You're officially old.

Who Me? You Shouldn't Have!!!

I just found out that I've been awarded the Vincent E. Defrances Scholarship in Animation AND the Card Walker Motion Picture Fellowship... I applied for several donor awards not actually expecting to land any... this is more than I could've ever imagined...

Thank you, Universe.

I'm do dog-gone lucky. Love this shot of a Hungarian sheepdog (Mortimer!) by Tim Flach. It's how I feel...

I Think I Can, I Think I Can...

I'd be "lion" if I were to tell you that the animating process is an easy one...

It's 2:48 in A.M., and I'm in my garage... breathing life into clay puppets.

Brad Bird once said, “Animation is about creating the illusion of life. And you can't create it if you don't have one." Uh-oh.

Haikunimation

Watch highly irreverant animation created by Nick and Kevin for "Falling Lizard 2010" HERE. Topic of the year: FAIL. The boys animated one of my haikus. Perhaps you can guess which one it is?

I Knead You

Running some tests. In order to do so, I've got to complete at least one character - armature and all... Fun, fun, fun.

Gobble, Gobble

My classmate, Kevin, is my stop-motion mentor. I have no idea what I'm doing and am lucky to have someone to harass a mere phone call away. Kevin's currently working on a short titled "You're My Ghoul", and above is my contribution to his film... a turkey lawn ornament :) Made out of white Sculpey and then painted with acrylic paint...

Modest Tree

I've "clothed" him.
Decided to leave the tree green because I like the texture of the floral tape and did not want to mess up what I'd created thus far by introducing the unknown element, paint. Used a glue gun to get all the lil' leaves on, and am still contemplating whether or not he (the tree), needs more. Thoughts?

OMG, this film is going to be so much fun to make...

Like a Virgin

Stop-motion set building is hard-work, but boy, is it fun. Tah-dah! My very first prop. A miniature tree. He stands about 13 inches tall... Will post more photos of him once I cover the tree trunk and branches in paint and clothe him with leaves.

Would love to know if floral tape is receptive to acrylic paint... I'm going to find out soon :)
