A Worthwhile Indulgence

Today's Wall Street Journal reports that a smashing lot of pricey paintings are headed for Sotheby's auction block tonight. According to the Journal, "expected bidders at the sales are the usual suspects" (casino owners, software developers, real estate developers, hedge fund folks, oligarchs, bankers, and so forth). Up for grabs is Mark Rothko's "White Center (Yellow, Pink and Lavender on Rose)" (1950). What a lovely way to blow $40 million :) It's the Neopolitan color-scheme, I tell you. Worth every penny.
