Baby Got Back

It's been a while since my last post. B-school's keeping be mucho busy! More about b-school to come...

But hey, what'd everyone think of last night's Emmy's?! My fav moment was Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, and Steve Carell's fake victory. They looked so happy!

Wah-Lah.

In the Works

A piece for my aunt Lih-Wen. She's taking care of Beans for me while I'm away in Yosemite!

P-oodle

A painting doodle. That which can be accomplished in 20 minutes.

Taco Time

I have been consuming way too many tacos. *Everyone* I've been dining with as of late has insisted on dining Mexican. That said, within these past two weeks, I've had tacos at Don Antonio's (Spencer's favorite place to eat on "The Hills"), Tito's Tacos (a pretty fantastic, though somewhat ghetto, hole-in-the-wall), and Pink Taco (Harry Morton's upscale taco joint). But I have yet to have any Taco Time tacos. Something's terribly wrong. Don't know what Taco Time is? Work "the Google"!

Red Whistle

I bought all the equipment I'll need to survive my camping trip. A whole lot of booty is involved when one goes camping. Who would've thunk?! Anyhoooo, my favorite purchase is my bright-red whistle. I'm supposed to blow on it when lost. Here's hopin' I won't have to use it!

Granola

I'm going camping for my very first time next week. I'll be at Yosemite for 3 nights! There better be s'mores!

Kryptonite

For Beans.
For me.

New and Improved

Did y'all know that Lucky Charms came out with a version that's got extra four-leaf clovers? G-g-g-genius! And did y'all know that Lucky Charms also came out with a version that's chocolatey? B-b-b-brilliant! In case you were wondering, I've been spending a good amount of time combing the cereal aisle since moving down to LA. While some students' diets revolve around pizza & beer, others' revolve around ramen. And then there's ME...

Life's Beachy

Venice Beach, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Laguna Beach... I know I still have a few to go, but considering the fact that I've only been here for a little over two weeks, I think I've become quite the beach beast.

Happy Birthday, Beans

The pup turned 1 today. Here he is enjoying his birthday breakfast of doggy pie nestled amidst his usual (but favorite) Costco kibble.

Happy Days

A bunch of my middle-school guy friends were in town this past weekend for a bachelor party. Somehow they found the time to meet up with lil' ol' me. Miso lucky. The five of us (not including Beans--he came too) strolled about Westwood and UCLA campus reminiscing the high school summer we'd spent bunking at Dykstra Hall together. Aww. Anyhow, after grabbing some grub at Hurry Curry and overrated fro-yo at Pinkberry, we caught a showing of "Superbad." T'was super good.

Jell-O

It's Saturday night and I'm sitting at home all by my lonesome-self (no wait, I've got Beans) watching "My Best Friend's Wedding" on cable. It's a romantic comedy. But at the moment, I'm not feeling the comedy. This is one depressing film...

My favorite line in the movie is when Jules (Julia Roberts) tells Kimmy (Cameron Diaz), "Crème brûlée can never be Jell-O. YOU could never be Jell-O."

You know... I'm Jell-O. But as the movie reveals, Jell-O typically doesn't bag the happy ending.

Wanted

Uber-fresh slices of raw fish. Kampachi, aji, uni... I need some SoCal recommendations!

Ate at "The Counter," a build-your-own burger joint, with my friend, Lydia and cousin, Jen for lunch yesterday. Mmm... BEEF. Shortly after ingesting a monstrous patty topped with a fried egg, no less, Jen and I attacked the trendy boutiques along Robertson and Hillary Rush on Third for some quality US Weekly-worthy goods.

Our last stop of the day was "Toast" on Third. Our light meals of soup and salad were ultimately followed up by a slice of rich chocolate cake for Jen and a delectable red velvet cupcake for me. Yes, life's shweeeet.

Tales of Italy

Pictured is the sweet old man Pammy and I paid to scribble a caricature of us during our visit to the Piazza Navona. We'd passed his stand on our first evening in Rome and Pammy was quick to point out that he was the only artist without any business. *sniffles* On our second night in Rome, we ventured out there again only to find that he was still sitting before an easel all by himself with no business. Out of pity, Pam and I ended up forking over 20 euros and posed for a combo piece. How bad could he be? *silence* Yes, well, you don't see a posting of the final outcome here, do you?

The good news is, after our sitting, he landed many more customers. None of whom are pictured here.
