Fabricating stop-motion sets relaxes me. I suppose this is a good thing, as my thesis film is in dire need of speed. GO-GO-GO!

Behold! One-third of the cardboard tower to be featured in "Gustave and Claude". I hope to finish the construction by Wednesday evening, and once that's done, we'll paint... boy, oh boy, oh boy...

Room With a View

My gig at the JHC (Jim Henson Company) has been gravy. Like Fight Club, you don't talk about the JHC, so with that said, I shall move on to the other scintillating event that's been toying with my life - and le cub's!

Our new home. It's in Silver Lake (still in La-La land, my friends), and we're currently in escrow. Want a sneak-peek of our new pad? Mos-def? Look above! View from the deck of our new baby. *collective oohs and ahhs* Yes, we can't believe it either!

Sidekick

Starting to build out my version of the cardboard tower pictured above. (Source: ffffound) The structure will be making a snazzy appearance in the opening shot of my thesis film... Yup. Thesis film. Feels good to be working on my film again!

Apparently Beans agrees. He stays up when I stay up. Adorbs.

Trips Ahoy

Le cub and I were in the Big Apple this past weekend, and yes, we saw lots, ate lots, and shopped lots. Well, window-shopped lots. Ever the patient fella', he spent a grand total of 6 hours at ABC Carpet & Home with yours truly. What can I say? The shop is beautiful. It's a museum, really... and I was mesmerized by the thought of furnishing our future home (more about that later) in ABC's delectable ware. Dreams do come true, you know...

C'mon... 6 hours! The decor is rustic... hip... whimsical. I ate it ALL up, dammit. So frickin' good. The decor and the food!

She's So Lucky

... "she" is me. I have so much to be thankful for, and it's not even Thanksgiving. A few reasons I've been so damn "gushy" as of late. (Read 'em and you just might understand.)

1) My boss is better than your boss. Being a Henson minion is so freakin' rad. I will be forever grateful for this experience.

2) Le hub and I are in talks to purchase our very own adult home. Don't want to jinx ourselves, so I'm not posting any photos or providing any details about location, but let's just say we are excited. Like, hearts pulsating out of our eyeballs excited!

3) New York bound. Vacay!!! Yes, I'm braving the storms to meet le hub in colder turf. Alas, this love is serious.

4) Max Wanger. He has sent us our wedding photos, and they are beyond wonderful. To be posted. Naturally.

Put in another offer on a house. Le hub and I are hopeful that things will work out this time around. Plucked a couple of images from Elle Decor and Remodelista. Yup, I have high hopes for this second larger, GRANDER abode... I really do. In fact, I've already mentally moved in... *GOGOGO!*

Gustave and Claude

Pictured? Gustave the snail. Claude the pill bug. Stars of my thesis film, "Gustave and Claude". That's right, I'm just overflowing with creative juices. The duo is French. The duo is evil. (So French, that I plan to open the short with THIS song.) Oui, my thesis film is looking like one hot-mess. But it's going to so much frickin' fun to make!!!
