Supply and Demand

i love olive with all that i have and will do anything for the munchkin, but i can't help but dread feeding her. (i breast feed via a breast pump. more on my experience with breast feeding and breast pumping to come.) olive's demand for milk is insatiable - frequently exceeding my supply. i live in constant fear that i can't provide for her... to think she's only a month old.

am slowing getting over my issues and am coming to realize that formula is a totally decent alternative to breast milk, but i can't help but feel like a loser when i'm unable to satisfy my kid. just sayin'...

I BF'd my two kids (now 13 and 16) and supplemented with formula. With the first, I can still remember how it seemed to take forever to figure out if I was doing everything right. They both turned out okay...sort of ;-)

I had a baby scale at home, which helped. I would weigh them several times a day sometimes!

thanks for the reassurance, melissa :) it's been so overwhelming dealing with colic and breast malfunction issues all at the same time... but as everyone around me has been pointing out... it gets easier. kinda'. sorta'. not really. i'm pretty sure everyone's lying... :)

but i'm starting to enjoy mommyhood more and more... little monsters are very funny when they start babbling.
