Great Expectations
Only two folks in this whole wide world get me. There's Pammy, of course. And then there's Beans. Pictured: Beans showcasing puppy dog eyes in hopes of landing a half-eaten Sour Patch Kid.

Spinster City
Received a care package in the mail from my dear cousin, Jen. I think she's worried about me, but she needn't be. Enclosed: a cupcake recipe book, a cute magnet, gummivites (!!!), and a copy of the book, "The Bridal Wave-A Survival Guide to the Everyone-I-Know-Is-Getting-Married Years." Huh. A must-read!
An excerpt from the introduction written by co-author, Valerie:
"This book is not about getting a man, keeping a man, or marrying a man. This is about keeping the crazies in check." Hmm. Is she referring to me? True, everyone around me seems to be getting married, and true, I've been living in fear of the fact that I just might die alone--or worse, be eaten by Beans. Rrright. I think I better start gobbling this shit down.

Objects of Desire
Drew Barrymore. (I know, I know. I'm a chick. She's a chick. But she's People Magazine's Most Beautiful Chick. Er, Person.); A championship for the Golden State Warriors (Going to Game 4. Woot-woot!); Anya Hindmarch's "I am not a Plastic Bag" bag; Dim sum (T minus 50 hours. I'm going. *Still* celebrating Mr.Debs' birthday. That boy is milking it.); A life in New York City (An old friend just bought a place of his very own there. Though I love the Bay Area, not a day goes by that I don't miss the Big Apple.); Finally, Red Vines (Even Beans likes 'em.)

I'm a Goober
When paired with coffee and/or orange juice, bran muffins induce a seemingly endless supply of poop. Say what? Yes, you heard me. An endless supply of poop. Me so gross. Pammy and I had ourselves two huge muffins at the Wynn this past weekend in Vegas. We were there in celebration of Mr. Debs' 29th birthday. Good times!

Sigh(s) of Relief

Good Morning
Weekend in LA turned out to be great fun. Spotted another "somebody"--director Brett Ratner outside of Neiman Marcus on Wilshire--on my last day. Was able to meet lots of bright, fun, ambitious, and *gasp* genuinely kind people due to the UCLA events and am now really looking forward to spending the next two years studying in SoCal.
I hear that UCLA Anderson prints a weekly paper/newslette. Wonder if it's got a comic strip. If not, I'm going to start one. It'd have to be relevant to b-school, of course. A "Dilbert"-esque strip... Hmm, think I can handle a weekly. Strip title suggestions?
Caught up with an old friend for lunch and then met many others at Oakland Colliseum to catch an evening basketball game. Warriors vs. Mavericks. Warriors won last night's game and are now one step away from making play-offs. Go team! Good times.
"It Makes Me Wonder" by Maroon 5 is so damn catchy.

Gone Hollywood
Landed in La-la-land last night and had dinner at "Ago" with college pals Sophie and Kathy. Spotted Michael Vartan (of "Alias" and "Never Been Kissed" fame), Helen Mirren's hubby aka the director of "Ray" (forgot his name), and get this, haha, Tara Reid. She's surprisingly TALL and her artificially enhanced breasts? Massive.
Am in SoCal attending "Anderson Days" -- a series of events hosted by UCLA's b-school in hopes to sell its program to those admitted. The events kick-off today... And I'm feeling soooo nervous! What if no one likes me?
