Indulge Me
With my first quarter 15-second student film behind me, I was free to make my personal contribution to the ailing retail economy earlier today. But before I exercised my right to swipe (my credit card, that is), le cub and I took the puppy on a happy hike through Runyon Canyon. As if Beans weren't stimulated enough following the hike, we drove him to The Modern Dog, an uber-yuppy doggy boutique along Abbot Kinney. I'd received a generous gift certificate for the shop from my good friend Johnny for my birthday, and I thought, what better time to spend it all than now? It's Christmas! Scooped up fancy-shmancy cookies, duck breast treats, and some stuffed toys for Beans. I swear he smiled when I presented him with his very first sock money.
Later in the evening, after le cub departed for his much-anticipated seven pub crawl, I swung by Century City mall to finish up my Christmas shopping. Can't list what I picked out for my friends and family, but let's just say I did good! And for myself? (I couldn't resist the urge. Everything's on sale!) I searched high and low for something spectacular (or at very least, fun) to wear on New Year's Eve. A jewel-tone satin top by Velvet satisfied my craving for color, a pair of rich, black, suede booties from recession-friendly Zara will go nicely with both skinny jeans and mini-dresses, and a cozy cowl-neck oatmeal sweater (that will always serve me well as a dress) from Madewell will all be making multiple appearances during my trip back home.
Looking forward to packing everyone's gifts and ooh, my beautiful new clothes!

Coming Soon!
Santa Baby
Hurried down the chimney this past weekend and delivered an early holiday surprise to le cougar cub. Since we will be celebrating the holidays in Taiwan this year, I had the cub open his gift a tad early so that we could both enjoy his present before taking flight. We're now the proud owners of a Wii! And RockBand2 is on its way :)Can't wait to play!

Unforgettable
My bff married the love of her life this past weekend and I was in Vegas to witness the whole shebang. The gathering was intimate with 24 guests presents -- mostly family. Highlights of the holiday-wedding-weekend include, but are not limited to, the following:
1) \Thanksgiving meal at Stratta. Their Bosco pizza (a truffle and mushroom thin crust wood oven pizza is to die for!) Orgasmically delicious.
2) Pammy's Bachelorette Partaaay. An evening of "Thunder from Down Under" action featuring lil' Pammy wearing a weiner headband in the opening act and a beat-boxing ass was followed up my an evening of shameless dancing at Lavo. Good-times!
3) Zipping Pammy into her gorgeous Melissa Sweet gown. She looked beautiful. Radiant. Who would've thunk that beneath the gorgeous gown was a goofy-looking corset resembling a white bullet-proof vest?!
4) The wedding. Quick and unfussy, it took place at the famous (infamous) Little White Chapel off the strip. As cheesy as the ceremony was, I cried.
5) The wedding banquet at Wing Lei at Wynn. Pammy's pop, having waited 29 years for this big day, drank non-stop and earned himself the new nickname, Uncle "Bottoms Up" Cheng. A real rock-star!
I still can't believe my little Pammy is married.
And I'll bet Pammy feels the same...

My Best Friend's Wedding
It's official! My bff, Pammy got hitched at the famous (infamous) Little White Chapel in Vegas this weekend. The lucky groom was Mr.Debs (aka "Andrew). That said, Pam is now "Mrs.Debs"! (Though she doesn't want to admit it because she thinks that "Mrs." makes her sound old.) More details about the fun-filled wedding weekend to come!

I'm it!
Was tagged by fellow IF contributor, the uber-talented Searlait (Thanks, woman!). Per her request, I am now going to reveal titillating 7 facts about yours truly. Here goes!
Fact 1: I have met both Bill Gates the Second (aka "Senior") and Bill Gates the Third (of Microsoft fame) -- on separate occasions. I was once assigned the task of "entertaining" Bill Senior at a fancy dinner party back when I lived in Seattle. Spent over an hour chatting with him about the Seattle Mariners, "wood-ear" (an edible fungi), and trampolines. Apparently Bill Junior has a room in his McMansion featuring a trampoline floor :)
Fact 2: My favorite food item is buttered-toast. It's better with butter.
Fact 3: I "heart" NY. Of the numerous cities I've lived in, I miss New York the most. It's still my number one.
Fact 4: Yet I dream of Paris. The food (Laduree, I love you), the art (L'Orangerie), the fashion (Colette's windows are incredible)... and the flea markets (Porte de Clignancourt is a must-see)...
Fact 5: Before I die, there are 3 things that I've gotta get done. One, get a dog. (Check!) Two, illustrate a children's book. (One is in the works. Half-check!) Three, have a baby. Hmm. I've gotta' work on that goal...
Fact 5: I have wanted to be an animator since the 5th grade. However, after interviewing a fella' named "Art" from Warner Brothers, I was discouraged from pursuing well, my "art". But look at me now!
Fact 6: I nearly didn't graduate with my undergraduate degree. Columbia University has a swim-test requirement to graduate (3 lengths of an Olympic-sized pool) and I failed it! (So I'm no Michael Phelps. So whaaat?!) I did, however, take the test a second time (immediately after my first failed-attempt), and passed. Whew.
Fact 7: I'm five-feet tall. NOT four-eleven. In fact, I'm five-feet and a quarter-inch. Take that!
Whew. That was a mouthful. And now I'm supposed to tag seven other bloggers by leaving comments on their blogs. Muah-ha-ha-ha-ha! *tag-tag-tag-tag-tag-tag* What?! Only six tags?! Yeah, well, that's because I haven't got seven taggable blogspot buddies to tag! (Everyone else has been tagged.) Six will have to do. The following folks are IT!
1. almost never daily
2. lifeflix
3. josh frost
4. gerald
5. lazysheep
6. larrychi
Happy tagging!
