We Will Rock You

My very best friend, Pammy, of "Hammy Days" (check out her blog HERE) is fabulous. She names her tiny kick-me yorkies after rap artists (Snoop and Shady), plucks her pits (as apparently Kimberlina does and I did - prior to laser treatment), bakes a mad-delicious rum cake, and ooh, collected stamps and rocks as a child (as did I).

I chat with her almost every single evening about nothing, really, and it makes me so very happy. One of our most recent discussions centered around the topic of ROCKS. OMG. We "heart" rocks. As a child growing up in the Valley (San Fernando, not Silicon), I could often be found throwing rocks onto the pavement in our backyard in hopes of smashing them open only to discover a beautiful geode. I never actually found a geode in my backyard (BOO), but I did manage to convince my kind mother to purchase a few for me from the mall at shops like Natural Wonders and Imaginarium. Children of the 80s, do you know what I'm talking about?

Anyhoo, check out what I found on the web earlier today. Click HERE. Wahahahaha, you can break your own geodes!!!

OMG, OMG, OMG. I am going to be a good girl this year. Perhaps Santa will get me some of THESE.

P.S. No, that's not me. That's some random uber-lucky kid with an uncut geode.

OMG sso random I was just thinking about Natural Wonders and how much I miss it! I also highly remember Imagniarium. My mom still things Imagineering is called Imaginarium and I cannot seem to convince her otherwise. I love rocks as well, unless they are out in nature. After seeing "Return to Oz" I developed an unnatural fear of large rocks, thinking if I stepped on them they would open their mouths and bite my feet off.

Oh how cute! I love geodes, I'm such a freak. My Daddy when I was little (he's an engineer with geology and blah down) but he handed me a rock and I was all "eww" but then he broke it in half and it was stunning. Amazing!

I love your blog, you've got an awesome writing style. You've also got a new follower :)

Y'all have the coolest dads. My dad (also cool, just not versed in geology) would watch me smash the non-geode "eew" rocks in our backyard and ask me what I was doing. I'd tell him I was looking for geodes, only to have him look at me blankly and nod - as if to motion "Carry on." Gosh, I don't think he knew or knows what a geode is.

My mom, on the other hand, was the one who bought them for me. She's a "rockstar."

Patricia, your blog. Me likee. Me follow.
