Fun Food



After watching a segment of 60 minutes featuring Alice Waters (of Chez Panisse fame), le cub and I decided that our bodies deserve to be treated as temples, and not as dumping grounds for frozen food. (Ya' hear that, Lean Cuisine?!? We've had enough!) Anyhow, since returning from Morocco, the two of us have been trying our very best to cook as often as possible. The microwave is still being used (sorry, Ms. Waters, there just isn't enough time in the day to avoid the "Funcooker"), but generally only for the purpose of heating.

Until now. I just heated up a frozen pork bun from "O'Tasty Foods," and what's funny about these 99 Ranch Market-purchased buns is the ingredient list printed on the bag. It reads:

Soy, Wheat, Shellfish, Ingredients.

"Ingredients"?!? Couldn't they be more specific? Need I remind you that these are PORK buns? What shellfish?!?
