BAMM!
Logo I created for a Disney Imagineering course that I'm taking at UCLA. Bamm! is a next-gen health club.
Lost and Found
Discovered a stack of vintage photos of wrestlers at an antique/thrift shop in Burbank. Shot in black and white, these photos instantly drew me in. They were kindly priced at two bucks per print, so I bought all six! Imagine a gallery wall of them in my guest room... Hehe. I framed one of them earlier today... they make me smile.
Walk This Way
I have to film a scene by Wednesday. That said, I've been furiously sculpting, molding, painting, gluing (you get the picture) away in order to meet the deadline. Look! Ethel's all done... walker and all.
Think I may have learned more about animating during these past few days than I did during all of last year. Mucho thanks to my fellow workshop classmates, Jeff and Kevin for the private lessons :)

Bon Bon
The gang is nearly finished! Here's bon bon head-shaped Ernest sporting a Steven Alan baby-blue and white gingham shirt, a vintage sweater vest (modeled on my grandpa's wardrobe), and straight-legged Earnest Sewn denim. Should I add a teeny-tie black bow tie to top off his geek-chic look? He's only going to the zoo, so the bow tie probably isn't necessary...
So much is due for school next week. Feeling swamped and stressed. The only thing that calms me is hugging Beans. Had a good time holding two Milkbone cookies hostage from the pup earlier today. Beans tried to negotiate a release with his powerful puppy-gaze. Needless to say, he was successful... Too cute.

Funky Bunch
Minus Marky Mark.
Meet Ernest. Ernest needs a body, some longer arms... and while you're at it, some clothes. It's cold out there.
* On second look, the man also sports an unintentional lazy-eye. Need to fix that...

This is the Plan
Had a wedding makeup and hair trial with the talented Nyrie this past Sunday. When asked what I wanted, I asked for a side-chignon or bun *teehee, I said "bun"* adorned with flowers. This is what Nyrie gave me. Thoughts? (While keeping in mind that I have an abnormal amount surplus of hair. A tiny little knot would've sufficed, but my hair... As Kimberlina might put it, *le sigh*. My hair... it's just everywhere.) Le cub photographed me with his phone. Will post a frontal shot. Maybe.
Mom Jeans
Meet Muriel. She's an extra in my film. She rocks mom jeans. I think she needs a belt. Some fingers and shoes would be nice as well...

Pretty in Pink
Remember THIS? I think the paint job was a good call. Ethel's looking pretty snazzy in hand-painted pink. Aiming to finish her by Sunday...
Pearl of Wisdom
"Never shoot a constipated poodle." Tim Burton.
Currently on display (alongside a bunch of other Burton goodies) at New York's MoMA. Loved the exhibit so much. Check it out.

Back-to-School
They're messy, but I love chalkboards. During my last trip to Lowes, I picked up a quart of the chalkboard paint. Don't know what I'm going to do with it, but I'll let you know.
And seriously, why buy or long for a Cy Twombly when you can create your own original art? Totally inspired by this giant chalkboard-paint covered canvas hanging on the wall. An inexpensive and creative way to fill up wall space!

Dear Internet...
I am eagerly awaiting Coco's return to late-night come-September. In the meantime, I shall watch and rewatch THIS gem of a video displaying Conan's fantastically entertaining invisible-string dance.
May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the crotch of the NBC executives who screwed with Conan's career and may their arms be too short to scratch.
NBC... TO THE GROUND!
Better Together
Unable to fall asleep last night, I went online and bought myself a pair of Smurf blue tights and le cub a pair of hot pink socks. *teehee* As Robin Williams once put it, "You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it.” Damn right. Looking forward to the arrival of our geeky footwear.

Live What You Love
Well don't mind if I do...
Le cub's lil' sis, aka my future sister-in-law and bridesmaid, bought me THIS print for Christmas. My mantra for 2010 :)

Rain, Rain, Go Away
Poof
Le cub and I have picked out "outfits" (not a manly word) for our upcoming engagement shoot with Max and Margaux. We are, however, still in the market for some bold accessories.
Socks for le cub. He's been looking HERE.
Poofy headband for le cougar. I'm seriously considering the above-pictured ban.do confection. Mmm, whimsy.

Love Story
Le cub and I have been putting off save-the-dates and invitations as they're a sad reminder that we need to finalize our guest list. Too many friends, and not enough space at our venue to include everyone. Sorry! We'd set out to put-together an intimate ceremony composed of friends and family, but it turns out friends at our age are all hitched or dating! The count was instantaneously doubled! This led me to resolve to not make any new friends in the new year. I'm only half-joking.
But seriously, save-the-dates and invitations. It takes a two... Le cub and moi. We brainstormed last night to come up with something good and uniquely us. Seeing that I've been having a good time fooling around with watercolors (see here), a little illustrated "love story" will likely may way into our invite envelopes...
A lovely break from working on my film.

Na-ma-skar!
Extra-Extra
Hey Bebe
Le cub was born in St.Paul, MN on April 5th, 1982.
He was a very heavy baby.
The doctor thought he was a set of twins.
Le cougar (that would be me) was born in Northridge, CA on November 13th, 1979.
She was born hairy.
There was even hair on her back.
Here's the Plan
Work. Work. Work some more. Grr.
Here's my vegetarian lion in the works. His afro is in dire need of some highlights and yes, he's still missing his bottom jaw. What part of in-the-works did you not understand? I kid you :)
Paid a visit to Joann Fabrics in Glendale. What a dump. I sprouted three white hairs while waiting in line. Grr. Bought some needlepoint supplies. But for the record, I do not know how to needlepoint. Hehe. But I'm going to try to figure it all out with the help of the internets. Yes, all the internets. I think a title page created with needle and thread could be a nice touch, don't you?
Finally, I have a new girl-crush. Her name is Caitlin McGauley. She is wonderful. THIS is why.

Brain Farts
The women on this season of The Bachelor are co-co-nuts.
Second visit to the Smog Shoppe today. With Rebecca. This pug's for her. (Yes, he's sporting a tighty-whitey.)
Kit Kraft of Studio City. Maybe I love you.
New York City, T-3!!!
Do invitations get more beautiful than THESE? Maaaaaybe. I want to make my own...

Save-The-Date
So many to save...
My BFF and matron-of-honor Pammy, is back in the country! While jet-lagged, she began planning my bachelorette party! Yes, already! (I'm not having an engagement party... nor am I having a bridal shower, so this should be fun.)
Destination? NEW ORLEANS, baby!!!
I Had a Dream
That I was the proud owner of this Edison-bulb chandelier hanging at Gjelina.
Ahh... if only dreams came true...

Arf-Arf...
"Do the doggy bounce... Arf! Arf! You know you wanna do it..."
Built the doggy skeleton and am now covering it with Sculpey III. I'd originally wanted to have the dog be black (like Beans!), however, I ended up settling for a shade of cocoa (#1657) out of fear that black would be difficult to photograph. As you can see, I've still got loads of work remaining (the dog's coat needs to be smoothed out, its collar still needs to be made, eyesballs would be lovely, and then ooh, a nose would be nice)... Aaaaaargh. What I would give to go to bed NOW!
So Long, Farewell
It's hard to say good-bye...
Le cub's on his way back to San Francisco (driving). *sniffles* But lucky for me, he was able to work remotely this past week... Which means we had loads of fun...
Picked out our "outfits" (men don't use that word) for our engagement shoot with Max Wanger. We both made sure our outfits were good for action shots...
We also found time to enjoy fantastic grub together at two places we'd been itching to try. First, we ventured on over to Sushi Nozawa (home of the famed Sushi Nazi) in Studio City... Then we inched our way over to Gjelina in Venice on Saturday. Yum, yummy, yum~ Reviews posted on My Tummy Smiled.

America's Got Talent
My always-hungry bridesmaid and favorite travel buddy (together we've been to Seattle, Venice, Rome, Florence, Miami, Cancun, Mykonos, Barcelona and Marrakesh), Tiff, sent over her eight-limbed self-portrait and adorable family portrait. Her dad has a beak! She drew this when she was 5 years old, and like le cub, was creating masterpieces at a very young age :)
